This item filter a 400'sqft  room 7.5 times an hour and has a remote that works up to 26' ft. We don't know all the specifics of your shop or current dust collection capabilities that you have but our guess is it would work at about 1/2 the room filtering spec you mentioned. It's a great unit and if your woodworking, it is also suggested to run a hepa dust collector and in combo, they work nicely.
